| The
Beaufort area is a paradise for camping.
It's peaceful atmosphere, warm nights, mostly sunny skies, abundant
nature and breath taking scenery make a getaway made in heaven. With
plenty of water around, one can just laze around and do some bank or
pier fishing or crabbing, or one may want to rent a boat and go out for a spin. The nights are beautiful, sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows, and listening to the night critters, watching shooting stars and reminiscing how it used to be... back in them good old days. |

What a great way to reestablish family ties, and for the young ones, there's nothing in the world like it. It is a lot more fun than in the back yard. Whether it's by RV or rustic tent and sleep on the ground, it's definitely worth it and makes a great way to clear the mind and have an affordable adventure. |

When setting up camp, make sure you
scout the area for fire ant mounds. As all the folks that live here knows, these little devils can really ruin a good time. This warning is even for the native camper. Once, in my excitement of setting up camp, I forgot to look. It wasn't long before I was doing a dance that would have scared even Indians! |
